After another day of driving yesterday, we have arrived at our destination in San Jose/Santa Clara California. Just a quick recap of yesterday: we left Santa Clarita at about 8:00am local time, drove through a mountain range where we increased from 2000 to 4000 feet elevation in about 45 minutes. At one point our truck dropped as low as 25 mph. Then there was a 6% downgrade for 5 miles where we had to ride the brakes! Shortly after that I was cut off by a black Mercedes crazy driver who passed me on the right hand emergency shoulder lane. I proceeded to call the California Hwy Patrol to report her tag number. Felt very vindicated. We drove through about 100 or 150 miles of farm land. I rolled down my window by a huge dairy farm and so my car smelled like cow for 15 milesArrived in San Jose around 3:30 local time, spent an hour in the South Bay office, left to visit one apartment which we really liked and put down a deposit on (we have appointments at 3 more today and hope to sign a lease by this afternoon), took the 4Runner off the car carrier and turned that car carrier thing in to Penske so we don’t have to deal with it. PTL! I have lots more pictures I will post when I get a chance.
We are staying with Andy and Stacie until probably Saturday or Sunday when we are moved in to our new place. Thank you all for your prayers and support as we have been traveling for so long. We are so excited to finally be here at South Bay.
