How I wish all of our supporters could be here in person to experience South Bay first hand!
We recently had some great friends Matthew and Emily in town to visit. We had such a good time with them, although it was too short! Matthew and Emily are from Alabama, we met them when we lived in Fort Worth and were attending Southwestern. They are some of our closest friends and they support us financially in our ministry. I wanted to take a moment to share and email that David received from Matthew after they left:
“Emily and I were greatly encouraged by how the Lord is using you and Kendall. We live in a culture of Christianity and it was refreshing to see you serving among a people where your life as a believer stood in stark contrast to theirs. It was amazing to hear stories of how the Lord is bringing people to SouthBay who have never heard the name of Jesus or read a page from His word. It was a pleasure to meet the SouthBay staff. Their love for the community and desire for excellence in ministry was evident. Emily and I left SouthBay thankful that we are a small part of your ministry and more commited than ever to supporting you and Kendall.”
Consider this a personal invitation to each of you to visit South Bay. I truly believe that you would be blessed by what you find God is doing here. It is beyond what any group of people could pull off in their own strength. In the month following Easter our attendance has increased about 30 percent and every week we have new people showing up wanting to know more.
Today we had a newcomers reception after church where we provide lunch and explain what South Bay is about. Andy answers questions about our church and gives a short gospel presentation. We also talk about membership, how to join a life group and how to serve. We had around 40 people RSVP, and from the picture you can see we had many more than that!
For those who are financially involved with our ministry at South Bay, we want to say thank you! We are so grateful for your willingness to partner with us faithfully because we couldn’t be here without you. Your ministry of financial and prayer support is impacting people you will never meet on this side of eternity. What an amazing time we will have in heaven when we get to see the faces of people we touched through our giving to His Kingdom! I am overwhelmed when I think of how some of you really took a step of faith when you committed to support us because there wasn’t very much room in your budget! But God is taking your gift and changing people for real in our church! It is such a pleasure to be partnered with you in this way!
