One of the best things for my spiritual health is writing monthly newsletters. I’m not trying to be holy here. I mean of course a 2 day project once a month is less than convenient in our schedule . . . but I am realizing that the task of communicating what has happened in the last 4 weeks requires me to reflect on the wonderful things we have to report! I keep a mental inventory of things to share with our loved ones and financial supporters . . . and when I sit down to make a newsletter I am writing from the overflow of my heart!
Sometimes I don’t feel prepared or I wonder if we’ll have enough to write, but then when I spend time reflecting on everything that is happening at South Bay I am filled with joy and gratitude again. Seriously. I don’t have to embellish or exaggerate or draw things out to sound more appealing. Its really just the world we live in, and its good to be reminded of that each month. God has been so gracious and good to us and that deserves reflection!
Sometimes on the “inside” of South Bay we (staff families and volunteers) feel like we are playing catch-up and running as fast as we can to get everything done. Its amazing how God takes our feeble collaborative effort and produces so much fruit and glory for Himself.
Thank you to each of our supporters for your faithful giving, because you are the reason we are doing this newsletter in the first place. When you pray for us and for South Bay, please remember to worship Him! Even if you are only hearing second hand about the people He is changing and the growth that is happening here. He is answering your prayers.
