I just love our band at South Bay. Today because of the time change we (along with all the other volunteers) woke up at what felt like 4:30am and drove to church in the dark. Luckily almost everyone showed up, and we began unpacking the truck at close to normal time which is around 6:50am. We normally set up the stage in 45 minutes and start rehearsal around 7:45. We don’t have a mid-week practice so that time on Sunday morning is crucial. Today we were really behind and had some technical difficulties so we didn’t even even start practice until about 8:25! That gave us time enough to run through each song about . . . um . . . one time. Which normally might not be a big deal but today we had two new songs.
So the first service was pretty rough. But knowing we had 2 more services to go, we took our instruments with us off stage and proceeded right out the back door to have a little pow wow. We changed out one of the songs and fixed a few other things. It was beautiful. Its great to play with a group of people who don’t take themselves too seriously. And who are super flexible! Love you guys!
