Yes I would say its true. I am pre-nesting. I can’t say I have the whirlwind of motivation and energy to clean and organize the house yet, but I feel it rumbling under the surface. Today David and I went to the doctor for our weekly check up. She guessed that the baby is about 7 lbs now and will be gaining about a half pound a week from here on out. She is pretty much done developing and all she has to do now is put on the pounds.
After the appointment David left with Andy our lead pastor to go to Santa Cruz until tomorrow evening for a planning retreat for next year’s ministry at South Bay. So I had all afternoon and evening to myself. (Yes, he does have cell service where he is and I also have the number to the hotel!) I went to get a pedicure with a friend this afternoon and tonight I organized baby clothes and I read a booklet on breastfeeding. Thats it, besides talking on the phone for awhile. I had all these grand ideas of what I could get done tonight, but I have learned to set my full term pregnancy productivity expectations a little lower.
We have a large list of things we need to do around the house to prepare for the baby . . . mostly cleaning types of things . . . and I feel my motivation calling in the distance but it hasn’t quite made it here yet. Its all running in my mind though. I have been told to watch out for a rush of energy a couple days before birth when I’ll accomplish a ton of things. I am ready for that day, but i don’t think it’s today. 12 days until the due date!
