This past week we’ve had David’s parents in town from North Carolina to visit Ella. She is their first grandchild and they came a long way to meet her! We’ve had a great time getting to hang out together.
The day after they got here Ella started in on her 6 week growth spurt. Until then she had been sleeping like 6 hours at night and everything was going pretty well, then all the sudden she started waking up ever 3 hours and I’d be up with her for so long at night because she wouldn’t go back to sleep! I had to get her quiet first because she is sleeping in our room and I didn’t want to wake David up since he did have a somewhat normal work week.
The good thing is she turned 7 weeks old on Thursday and since then she has been sleeping 7 hours a night! Last night she went down at 11:15pm and didn’t make a peep until 6:40am! I woke up feeling rested and ready for the day 🙂
One cool thing is that the Hibiske’s have really gotten to see how much she grew during her growth spurt because when they got here she was much smaller! You can’t really see the difference in the pictures as much . . . its moreso that she feels so much more solid. She is heavier and more stable. She can hold her head up now and keep it still!
Having a newborn in the house means we haven’t been out and about quite as much but we did go up to Half Moon Bay on Thursday afternoon. We ate at Sam’s Chowder House on the water and got coffee at El Granada Hardware and Cafe. Got to love those local joints! Here are some pics.
