So my birthday was yesterday, and it was fabulous. David took me to Chick fil A for breakfast (because we just now got one in San Jose!) and I had a great chicken biscuit (actually I had 2). Then I went to the mall with Ella. She didn’t like the mall quite as much but I had a great time! I got 3 shirts and a scarf, and one of my shirts was actually full price. I never do that. There is something in my genetic make up that causes me to buy things only on sale . . . but I also can NEVER find button up long sleeve shirts that fit me good so I bought it. It was my birthday! And actually I ended up getting it 15% off anyways because the girl rang it up wrong but said she didn’t want to change it. ha! Happy birthday to me!
Then I came home and Ella had a great nap (finally) and I cleaned up the house a bit. That was my least favorite part of the day (who likes to clean, let alone on your birthday?!). Anyways then we went to Stacie and Andys house where we had a little get together with a few of our South Bay staff families and it was super fun. They even spent some time affirming specific things they see in me which I believe is one of the best things to do for someone on their birthday! Yay for friends!
Amongst all the cards and gifts was this legal size envelope with my name on it. It was thick like someone was giving me a training manual or something. . . They said it was from David, he had just snuck it in there with the others. I opened it and found this:
He had made 31 birthday wishes for me to redeem throughout the year! I won’t post them all, but they include…
- Birthday wish #2 To have David come home 2 hours early from work on a thursday to start the weekend!
- Birthday wish #7To be taken to a ball game! You pick the sport and team.
- Birthday wish #14To have David plan a family day of fun!
- Birthday wish #23 Some serious blog time! Been trying to finish that post . . . give me that baby and start writing!
- Birthday wish #24 To a clothes shopping trip with a $75 budget + lunch/dinner. I will carry your clothes and take care of Ella.
Wow! This is just 5 examples of the 31 birthday wishes he gave me! Others include lattes, cleaning kitchen, movie nights, and much more! Some are not suited for general audiences 🙂 I have an amazing husband. He’ll tell you he isn’t a good gift giver, but this proves he’s got it in him! And I think he even has something planned for Thursday night because he said we have a babysitter scheduled . . . but I don’t know what we’re doing! This has already been the best birthday ever so it can only get better!
