Monday night was our South Bay Church staff Christmas party. Each year we do a staff Christmas party, and its always a big deal. Stacie Wood, our lead pastor’s wife, won’t let any of us other staff help with preparations because she wants us to be able to just come and enjoy. In the beginning she was even preparing all the food, but now our staff is WAY to big for one person to handle the whole thing, especially someone who has a brand new baby! So we decided to do it a bit different this year, and so this one was the first of its kind. A celebrity look-alike Hollywood costume party.
It was epic.
I really wanted to be all in for this one because the winner of the costume contest was going to win a trip to Hollywood!! Heck yeah baby! Costume parties are lame if a large number of people don’t dress up, but that wasn’t a problem for us.
So I went as the Glenn Close version of Cruella. I loved it because she is super flamboyant and I knew everyone would recognize her. Plus who wouldn’t want to wear a huge fur coat when its freezing outside? I drove all over creation putting this costume together. Some of it I bought on Amazon (wig, gloves, boa), and other things I found at other stores in the area. The fur coat I rented from Natasha’s Attic on Bascom Ave.
All my efforts paid off because I WON! There were several prizes for other categories but one overall prize for tickets to Hollywood and they are mine! WooHoo!
So here are some pics…
