Oh my goodness, you sir are growing up! You look less and less like a toddler and more like a pre-K little boy! Your feet are growing, you are slimming down and getting taller, and you have hair on your arms and legs (which you love).
You want to be just like Daddy which I think is the bees knees. You want to ride with him in his car ALL the time even though mommy just got a new(ish) car and can play spotify music in there (my favorite feature). Daddy drives you to school in the mornings. He’s been teaching you lately how to look for 4 wheel drive trucks.
You are not as much into airplanes and helicopters, but you LOVE construction vehicles. Even still you shout it out when you see an excavator or a dump truck or a bulldozer. Every year for your birthday we do basically some variation of a big truck party. This year you wanted a dirt cake in a dump truck (again).
You have a little bruder mini catalog that you carry around and you have had your sights set on a gas truck with a trailer. Its uber expensive so you didn’t get it for your birthday yet, but one day you’ll be able to take care of a nice thing like that. You carry that book to me and say very seriously: “Mommy. I VERY NEED this truck.”
You are in the Yellow Class for your final year at Kiddie Kampus, and you are going to love it. Mrs Melinda is the best and she’s the teacher that came to our house when Ella broke her leg in Dec of 2017. You were way too little to remember that but Mrs Melinda is special. So glad you have her for a teacher.
I love that you dance and sing. You do a hilarious booty shake dance and I have walked in on you standing on a chair singing paw patrol. Your greatest hits list includes Oh I Just Can’t Wait to be King, Pup Pup Boogie, and Hakuna Matata. Your favorite show is definitely Paw Patrol, hands down.
I am praying great things for you little man. You have such an amazing example in your daddy. I pray that you are a faithful and responsible man. That God will bring you a wife and a family one day and you will love them well. I pray that you will stand up for what is right in your community. I pray that you learn to protect your eyes and heart and live a pure life. I pray that you are a man of prayer. I pray that you give your whole life in worship to God and invest greatly in His Kingdom. All of this flows from and is powered by a real and authentic relationship with Jesus. Trust Him. He is always there even when you mess things up, like we all do. His forgiveness and grace are impossible to measure, and his love is like a fountain that never stops. He’s the only source of true peace and joy.
You are my little man. I go in and check on you at night, I crawl into your big tall bed and snuggle your face and pray for you. You sure do sleep like a rock. Even when your cheeks catch mommy’s tears. That might have happened a few times. Love you buddy.
