Yesterday David and I drove to Point Reyes National Seashore to spend the day hiking and exploring. I surprised him with the location, all he knew was we were going hiking somewhere. Point Reyes is a national park just north of San Francisco, and they have over 150 miles of hiking trails and 80 miles of coastline! We hiked to Tomales Point, which is over a 9.5 mile round trip hike to the northernmost part of the park. That hike took us about 6 hours, then we drove to the lighthouse where we had to walk a mile to get to it. We saw a ton of Elk, a few deer, and lots of cows 🙂 We ended the day with a windy and very cold pacific sunset on Point Reyes North Beach. We have over 180 pictures, but I will only post a few so you can get an idea of the majesty of creation at this park! None of these pictures have been edited at all . . .
David and I celebrated his birthday yesterday with a trip about 35 miles south of us to Santa Cruz. We found an amazing restaurant for breakfast called Linda’s Seabreeze cafe. Holy cow its up there in the ranks of great breakfast restaurants. They only had about 12 tables, and its about the size of a living room. But it was packed on a Friday morning and we hear its really packed on Saturday! Then we went downtown and shopped for several hours. It was super rainy and cloudy so we came home a little early but before we did we drove West Cliff Drive along the coast I have posted some pictures here from our drive!
Oh yeah and on the way home we stopped at Lowes and got David a grill. I was proud of him for his patience. He’s been without one since we left Texas that is really hard for him because he loves to grill! He used all his birthday money to get one and today is the day he gets to put it together!
