Yes thats right ladies and gentlemen, I have said goodbye to my 20’s and I’m entering a new chapter of life. Am I sad? Nope. Don’t get me wrong, my 20’s were about as good as they could have been. I graduated college, met my husband, got married, bought my first Taylor guitar (had to put that in there) graduated seminary, moved across the country to an AMAZING church in California, got a job at an awesome Christian Counseling Center, and God has blessed me with a baby girl who is as I type is making herself known in my belly.
How could I not be thrilled about my 30’s? God has been so faithful to me over the years to bless me in countless ways. I have come to trust his hand to finish what he’s started in me. I have had a few dark places too and I know I’ll have more as I grow older, but I know I’ll look back over my 30’s in 10 years and be able to list all the blessings of that season as well.
So enough of that meaningful talk. What am I doing for my birthday? Last night my wonderful husband took me up to San Francisco for dinner, and he is currently in the kitchen making a cake and I am not allowed to help (other than answering questions!) This morning I went to breakfast with Stacie and Mandy, two other pastors wives at South Bay Church and long time friends of mine. My pancakes were amazing. I am easy to please when I can have good pancakes. Tomorrow night we’re having a small party at our house and I am not allowed to help with that either. About 5 minutes ago we skyped with my family in Alabama, and they had cake and we did too! (That was David’s idea!) It was a skype birthday party.
It’s been a great birthday so far!
